Anyone else think that the 'detective' series Vera is one big yarn?

All right it ticks all the diversity boxes, black actors, disable actor, Muslim actor mixed marriage, etc.

But it is so slow and boring, and 'Vera's' voice and shabby clothes, what can one say? except it takes up 2 hours of peak viewing time.

One of the best things on TV at the moment.
What - no white actors ?
//slow and boring// as police work often is. Great series.
Coming from Northumberland myself, I love it. Always good storylines.
I thought it was an excellent series, thoroughly enjoyed it.

The mistake that crept into the script last night made me smile. Either Vera or Aiden got their line wrong & he barely suppressed his grin - perhaps they were too cold for a retake? :-)
It's dreadful. Still, each to their own.
I love it. If Jack Frost is acceptable in his shabby clothes, so is Vera in hers
They do have white, male actors, bazille. There all stupid, thuggish psychopaths,,,,,,,and that's just the policemen. (must admit, I only 'half watched' half an episode.
i like Vera, I want her coat and hat.
Aiden is played by Kenny Doughton, an English actor. So the two leads are white, English and without disability

The Policemen are stupid thuggish Psychos??

Are you discussing the same show?
The disabled actors in both Vera and Silent Witness reflect the reality of large companies and the public sector because people in wheelchairs and with other disabilities are employed, especially in computer/desk jobs.
I love it PET......
//The disabled actors in both Vera and Silent Witness//. They are the same person.
Sorry Danny, they aren't.
They most definitely are not the same person, they look nothing alike.
Sorry another senior moment. The disabled actress is in Vera and Eastenders not Silent Witness.
This is the very fab Liz Carr, who is a comedian as well as an actor.

This is Lisa Hammond from Vera

Scraping the bottom of the barrel here AOG. Daily Mail not got anything interesting to moan about today? I think the Vera series is great - much better than the books which are a bit wordy. Think the mix reflects today's society. My friend is in a wheelchair and does a similar job to that portrayed.
