Hi Rosetta Yes I do agree .I haven't seen tonights episode yet though . It's been brilliant .I was a bit dubious having seen the original, read all the books and watched the box set many times. . I didn't think it could be bettered but gave it a go and am so glad I did. Lovely to see Robin Ellis again and Verity is so well played by Ruby Bentall. Very well casted and I love...

Very well casted and I love Phil Davis as Jud .

Since it's left 'hanging' there has to be another series. Can't wait, should be fireworks on all fronts.
Yes. I don`t know how long Aiden Turner is contracted for but I wouldn`t be surprised if he eventually gets poached away by the US film industry as there is nothing the Americans like more than a good looking Irishman.
Ive not seen any of it.
Like you shaney I read the books and saw the series and I think the BBC has done a great job with this new version of the wonderful Poldark - it does help when the leading man is utterly gorgeous! Roll on series 2.

Hi shaneystar and quizzywig, I loved the original but I think this version is better. Its years since I read the books, and can't remember how many will have been adapted for this series.
237SJ, I can also see Aiden being Holywood bound, he does the brooding look to perfection. I've loved the actress's portrayal of Demelza, I wasn't keen at first but I think she has grown into the role

A great cliff hanger final episode butterbun
Georgiesmum, if they repeat the series its well worth a watch. I regret not recording it this time round but will do so with the repeats
There's always iPlayer...get it while you can!!
Didn't want to see it as I loved the original series so much - but so glad I did!!! Much better than the 70s version. Will really miss it at 9pm on Sundays!
According to the Mirror - they said that Ross cheated on Demelza with Elizabeth in the last episode when she came to nurse her. I took that scene as being a dream that Demelza had. Having read the books that did not happen, in fact I'm fairly certain that Elizabeth was not even there.
