Up until tonight it never quite made it for me. The constant flip/flop on punishments and Russell Tovey's character blarting his eyes out for any reason got very wearying.
Quite a series climax though.

Oh no,did they eventually get round to hanging somebody ? They were going to hang someone in nearly every episode .Haven't seen tonights episode yet .
I thought it was total rubbish, but,I was compelled to watch it for some perverse reason.It was like Eastenders and Lord of the Flies mixed together. I kept expecting Piggy and Jack to come leaping out of the bush .
Not one of Jimmy McGovern's best .

I enjoyed it and found last nights episode a bit upsetting. We didn't get to see what eventually happened to Corporal MacDonald so that might lead to a second series. Hope so anyway.

Probably safe to assume that the corporal blew his brains out. No need to see it happen, nor the body washed up on the beach.

I mean't the fall out of his suicide with the major forcing him to kill someone and the fact that he took McVitie from him.

Or maybe its just me wanting justice for the poor guy.
