HI folks, have made a start on this, 50 to find in total, but still quite a few I haven't got a clue about ....

Life on Mars

Wolf Hall
Strictly
House of cards
The apprentice (Stuart Baggs)
Room 101
downton Abbey
Call the Midwife
Utopia

Countdown
Coronation Street
The Voice
two pints of lager and a packet of crisps
Merlin
Dragons Den
the office
East Enders (bust of Queen Vic on the castellated tower)
the voice
Gavin and Stacey (Billericay to Barry)

well that's 24 done, nearly half-way there ....

and just few questions ... what are all those stones on the steps all about
and the 8+8+8 on the brick wall of the tower?
the red arrow things with the black dots?
Steve Coogan?
"this does nothing" words around a red dot on the pavement at the bottom of the steps.

Count how many 'stones' there are, it helped me. If an item does nothing it could be considered to be .........? 8 + 8 + 8 = ? Which character is Steve Coogan famous for? I'm stuck on the woolly mamoth too - a couple of options there. Any thoughts on the pink study sign?

Coogan = Alan Partridge
The 30 rocks represent 30 Rock; 8+8+8 = 24. I think it's Harry Hill's TV Burp, not You've Been Framed as he is waving a flag as on 'Burp'. How do you get Mr Selfridge? Can't see it. Steve Coogan is Alan Pardtridge
I'm up to 36 and just wondered what represented You've Been Framed and Coronation Street? I've got 24 for 8+8+8, and I'm Alan Patridge for Steve Coogan. And shouldn't Staying In be Not Going Out?
Agree with not going out, tv burp, and Alan partridge. Coronation St is Newton and ridley. Stuck on red Google type landmarks, the sobriety chip, cctv camera, werewolf, woman in blue or is that Mr self ridge, detective police 452, shield with blue trees. I think at least 3 have been in previous quizzes
ParrottBoy: The study sign is Sherlock. The first episode was titled A Study in Pink.

chokkie: I'm not sure about Dragon's Den. The Levi Roots sign could also relate to his cookery show Caribbean Food Made Easy.

andrewc: Thanks for the Corrie reference, I'd missed the Newton & Ridley sign. I think the werewolf might be Being Human; the shield with three trees on is The Inbetweeners, it's the school crest; and the woman in blue, if you mean the one on the far right, is from Ripper Street. Like you I'm also stuck on the sobriety chip, the map markers, the police badge, and the cctv camera.

I'm also stuck on the symbol next to Harry Hill, the mammoth ( I assume it relates to one of the BBC's Walking With... series, but can't be sure.), 1.8288m (That's the equivalent of a fathom, which was the working title of Surface, but seems a bit obscure to me.), NAOMISWED (There was a character in the 90210 reboot called Naomi, and one of the plotlines concerned her wedding.), and the helicopter (I'm now wondering if both it and the 'Big C' are one clue, otherwise I've got 51!).
Thanks for inbetweeners ripper street and being human. I think the helicopter with c are together I'm a celebrity. They've appeared before. I'd go with dragons den but there are always these uncertainties. I found a us program called 12 steps to recovery but no idea if shown here. I'd go with woolly mammoth the autopsy and six feet under as suggested on other trail. I think naomiswed is countdown tho don't understand if womanised is a particular clue. The symbol next to harry hill is dharma and relates to lost
Thanks for Mammoth the Autopsy and Six Feet Under, they do both seem more likely. Some of the other clues are incredibly ambiguous; the helicopter and big C could just be I'm A Celeb..., or references to two separate programmes. I had The Big C for the C; and the Countdown board and selection of letters could just be Countdown, or could again be two programmes. If I take them both as single clues it drops me below 50, just the one and I'm bang on. Maybe the CCTV camera is a red herring.

Oh, and I meant the symbol below Harry and the Dharma flag. I recognise it, but can't think where from.
Midnighter, I think the symbol you are referring to is from the American series Heroes. I'm also thinking that the silhouette of the camera could be Big Brother. Stuck on the Police 452 badge and the AA Sobriety badge on the wall near Alan Partridge, any ideas?
Heroes is the one, thanks. Low Winter Sun's been suggested for the police badge on another thread, but still no idea about the sobriety chip.
Still don't know how Mr Selfridge is included. There is also the honeycomb network in front of MyAnna Buring. Same as Blockbusters but I doubt if that's what it is. Would be nice to see the original as the CCTV camera might have been on that to start with. Don't forget Family Guy and SpongeBob Squarepants.
And the metres clue is 6 Feet Under
The Mammoth

Fortitude suggested by Fibonacci on another thread

What about MOM for the AA badge?
filmbuff: The honeycomb pattern is the Torchwood logo. Like you I've n idea what's supposed to represent Mr Selfridge... unless one of the characters is/was an alcoholic!
I've just done a quick google search of Low Winter Sun and 452, and apparently file no. 452 was mentioned in an episode. No idea if that's significant.
Torchwood is brilliant. I was going with blockbusters and now clearly wrong. I like big brother. I was thinking crime watch or one of the cctv reality shows but I think bb is better as the camera always features. I did find that PC mcgarry in camberwick green was 452 but I'm sure that's a red herring. It's the style of an lapd badge but can't find a match. The badge looks broken. It might be worth trying Google goggles if someone has an android phone. Is Mr selfridge just confusion with ripper St? I only get 50 if I include whatt looks like a blue planet
I think I can make out Detroit in the police badge which is where low winter sun was set. According to wiki the Detroit pd doesn't have a detective rank but I don't think that matters. I googled low winter sun 452 and saw "a list of 452 titles" in the search summary but I couldn't find that detail in the website.
does anyone have an answer for the red dot with this does nothing around it?
I think the red map markers are location, location, location if that helps anyone
What about mad men for the sobriety chip? Don draper is/was an alcoholic
