There is a reality food programme on this week and the family were interviewed on Breakfast. They said the worse meal was a 1950's one where they had to eat cold liver, cauliflower, and mashed potatoes as the parents ate at lunchtime. What nonsense! My Mum and I used to heat up Dad's/husband's meal when he got home by putting it over a pan of boiling water with another plate on top to heat it.
Also, if you had a school dinner. You only had a tea not another dinner.
At leads they could have got their facts right so the girl's birthday dinner was edible!
And have you ever heard of having rat's tails in your handbag in the 1980's?
No, neither have I!

One can not say what a particular family does. Maybe they felt they didn't need to reheat it. Maybe they took a sandwich for lunchtime ?

Rat's tails ? They sound really appetizing.
I used to have rats tails in my pocket in the 80s. They were clip on hair accessories.
