Kind of ok but thought there were questions left unanswered; the ending was sad, it showed that young Crystal made the ultimate sacrifice for her brother who she had protected and looked after for so long. I thought the child might have been Rory Kinnear's characters'; that would have explained why he was always helping them out. What was the ending in the book? I heard they had to change it for TV because the real ending was too sad; Crystal dying was sad enough....!

In the book, Robbie drowns in the river, Crystal cuts her leg on the stolen computer that the lad's abusive father threw away (not a TV as on the TV) so she can't reach him. She deliberately overdoses by injecting her mother's heroin unto her arm. The book ends with her funeral and what happened on the day of the race against the posh school.

Thanks Carolegif!
Very sad ending indeed. But on a lighter note it was good to see the dreadful Shirley get her come uppance. I'd have let the *** die.
The actress playing Shirley (whose name I can't bring to mind) was excellent wasn't she, she played the part wonderfully.
Julia McKenzie
That's her, thanks Mamya.
The book is much better. It was not possible to do it justice in just 3 episodes.
I couldn't figure out who was doing the ghost videos, did anyone work it out ?
