Emails From Bt Or Scams?

I have had two emails today both supposedly from BT asking me to confirm my billing information, open the link, etc. has anyone else had these, and are they likely to be scams? Obviously I didnt click on the link and I have forwarded them to BT. Surely BT have my credit card details, why would they want to double check them ?

Of course it's a scam. It's always a scam.
Reputable companies ask you to visit the website and login, not via a random link sent in an email.
Ignore and delete. Always.

You did the right thing.

ALWAYS login via the companies website, not via a link in an email.

Has your card changed - eg. have you recently got a new one as the old one was due to expire?

I pay by direct debit so shouldnt need my card details. Wanted to warn other abers ... I Forwarded the emails to [email protected]. Not sure what they can do....

I've had similar ones from Amazon asking me to confirm my account and Revenue and Customs about a tax refund. So it's not just BT that the scammers are targeting. They look very convincing so I can see why some people could think they're genuine.

I've had them from Amazon to BT to Paypal and eBay and many, many banks.

You have to think really quickly .. hang on, is this a scam? before clicking on the link. Beware !
