Loved this series. Lee Ingleby is proving to be a fine actor and the rest of the casting is pure genius. Anne Reid is always a pleasure to watch.

I'm delighted a second series has been commissioned, I can see this being a runner.

I have not seen this show but I agree wholeheartedly with your comments re the actors you mention. Lee Ingleby (Sgt Bacchus in George Gently) has a great future. As for Anne Reid, if she figures in the cast list you know that you are in for a production of the finest quality. She is one of the few (and I include Sarah Lancashire and Katherine Kelly, to name but two) to demonstrate that there is a life after Corrie.
I think that the cast list is brilliant but I find the predictability of the story very annoying.
I thoroughly enjoyed this brilliant series. Great acting all round. Glad to hear there's another series. Lee Ingleby was very good casting. My only complaint is that the BBC should have put this on Sunday evenings not mid-week..
I went to Chester Zoo for the first time ever last week. Amazing.

After watching this program it is lovely to see the Zoo thriving. Over 110 acres, 11,000 animals, 700 different species.

They are also building a new section called Islands, a 20 million pound development, the largest zoo project ever in any UK zoo. It opens in spring 2015.

Didn't know there was going to be a series 2...I shall look forward to that!
I loved the programme and agree with all the comments except the bit from woofgang about the predictability of the story - it was based on a true story so the outcome was known from the start - not saying this to be contentious woofgang :-)
I know we know where the story is going but the stock cute child who loves the animals, the older sister struggling with growing up, the posh bird who breaks down the class barrier, the snobby vicar who does not, hiding the hunted fox...its all a bit predictable.
There are very few dramas which are not predictable these days. I think a lot of it is down to the prevailing opinion that you can't challenge viewers with anything complicated. There is also the problem of knowing Chester Zoo exists. That said,I really like Our Zoo.
