Intelligent - and with no audience, I can actually hear everything that everyone says.

Agree, but shame the presenter is so hard-voiced and lacking any warmth, which is why we can't watch it.
I hadn't seen it before last night. It took me a little while to tune into the thinking but overall enjoyed the challenges.

VCM irritated the hell out of me though, particularly when she repeatedly offered two pronunciations of 'Felinophiles'.

Got to say she hasn't inherited her father's personality.
I have watched this programme since it first started on BBC4 and always found her friendly and witty. Perhaps she was trying too hard last night or possibly the producers wanted a change.
I've always watched it when it was on BBC4, and found VCM to be fun and interested in the contestants. I haven't watched last night's episode yet; I hope it hasn't changed too much. I used to like feeling as if I were part of a small group watching on the backwaters of BBC4.
The best quiz on the box!
I've been hooked since it started and just as you say, Naomi...... not having an audience is bliss.
VC grew on me over the first few weeks and I really like her presentation now.....x
I think if VCM cut out a lot of her obscure and irritating remarks it certainly would be the best quiz on t.v..
Hope it'll be as successful on BBC Two as on beeb 4. I prefer uni challenge or even the chase but OC is very good.
Been watching it since it first began - best quiz on T.V. and we enjoy V.C.'s remarks (can't think of her as V.C.M.). Real sense of triumph when we get the correct links on the wall.
I thoroughly enjoy it and as for Victoria - she is so funny, very dry and tongue in cheek.
I can't 'do' with Pointless, too much repetition, and The Chase - all flashing lights, yuk.
Another favourite is University Challenge. I compete with my grandson to see how many we can answer.
Hi, Helly.....it's fun to have someone to compete with.....now, on my own if I get a connecting wall before the team I have to phone a disinterested brother to shout.....Whooohooo!!!!

Gness, that was the point I was making. Unlike other shows, The Chase, Pointless, University Challenge and even Mastermind, the absence of an audience makes this so watchable - and ‘hearable’. Audiences seem to get so over-excited these days.
'If you can't improve the silence, shut up!'
Another reason I like OC is there's not too much chat. Just enough so we know something interesting about the contestants and get a sense of Victoria's intelligence and humour.
Do you think she should show a bit more cleavage next week. I was most disappointed last night;-)
I love it, so does Mr Q, though I suspect he fancies Victoria! But I think it should have stayed on BBC4 - can't see the point of moving it.

I expect it will gain a wider audience on BBC2.
Exactly as Clover says.....just enough chat and humour....and isn't it fascinating listening to them discuss the possible answers and seeing how their minds are working....fascinating...x

I did love when the gorgeous and brilliant young lad was on....name escapes me....but VC flirted with him so nicely.....☺

Yes, I like watching the thought processes evolve too.
