What do we make of him? I'm only a couple of minutes in(young Chill is mesmerised) but as an avid fan of The Thick Of It it is going to take forever for me to disassociate Capaldi from Malcolm Tucker and indeed, may be impossible.
As he opened the door of the TARDIS I almost expected him to say to Strax "Right you, f$%* off you over-tanned penis".

NO SPOILERS PLEAsE..... Night shift

It'll be tricky but I think he'll be brilliant Capaldi is one of my favourite....the rant" will always be just on the edge of the thing....maybe he could have a go at the Daleks ;0)

No worries Slappy, won't mention anything else.

It's just that IMHO he will forever be Malcolm Tucker, a part he was born to play but I'll stick with it.
Won't disagree with you at all, Tucker was brilliant in fact I've yet to see anything he's not done well
Loving it! Never seen Thick of It, though...
Me neither.
Question Author
jeffa,
You're not serious? The cleverest, sharpest most acerbic British comedy ever IMHO, with Capaldi playing a government spin doctor that as I've said he was born for.
What's more, it's probably closer to reality than we could ever dare imagine.
I'd urge you to watch it at your earliest convenience.
Hav'nt watched it yet ( probably watch it tomorrow on i player ), Never watched The Thick Of It. Like the look of his clobber though from what I've seen on trailers and stills.

Not bad. Won't elaborate further for Slappy's sake and anyone else yet to watch it.

He's still Malcolm Tucker though!
Superb! Loved the phone call near the end...
Peter Capaldi is from Possilpark in Glasgow, the Daleks have had it :-)
I still remember him as the geeky guy in 'Local Hero' who is served rabbit stew...made from the rabbit he was trying to save! Oh, and finding the research girls webbed feet!!
Never watched the thick of it, sounds good is it on "On Demand" As for Doctor Who My fave is David Tennent. Maybe I'll give this new chap a go.
David Tennant was by far my favourite of the "new" doctors too, Jeza, but Peter Capaldi was seriously good tonight...
Just checked, Jeza. And yes it's on the BBC i player.
I thought the idea of cyborgs rebuilding themselves from human parts was excellent but I thought capaldi was a bit wooden / soulless.
Oh yeah... totally forgot about it. Might watch it now...
Have recorded it. My vote goes to David Tennant.
Tony, just gone to I player site........currently not available
It is on the computer BBC I player, Jeza.
