Wasn't it Theseus who killed the Minotaur? Not Jason.

It was indeed Theseus - this Atlantis programme is rubbish. Should have made more Merlin.
If you are referring to the new BBC series....I lost interest after 10 minutes when they all started speaking perfect English...in Atlantis.
Yes, I know....call me picky!
Yes it was - this is a "re-imagining" of the ancient Greek myths ..... so they said
Alright for a bit of Saturday night entertainment though
I'm sticking with it so far. I figured there was no point expecting them to stick to too many facts, like with Merlin, just switch off and enjoy some light Saturday night TV.

It's actually better than I thought it might be from the trailers. They seem to have a good cast though I'm not sure it's showing through though, yet anyway but I guess it's just starting everything up.

I am liking Jason though, which helps :)

Disappointing indeed, might give it another week or two.
it's just another in the same vein as robin hood/dr who/merlin/primeval

don't expect too much but as eve says, suspend disbelief and watch

I suppose we will have to suspend belief in the actual Greek myths and just enjoy it, like we did with Merlin and the Arthurian legends.
what's all this "suspend belief in the greek myths" nonsense. do you really believe that the minataur ever existed. or Pegasus, Icarus, the Harpies et al. Great stuff, but come on.
enjoy it for what it is and dont expect reality, after all only Pythagaros of the main three characters really existed

I meant forget the stories as they were written and go with the flow! We had a teacher who read the Greek myths to us every Friday at primary school and I have lived them ever since.

"Loved"
Enjoyed the send up of Hercules! Quite how Pythagoras got in there is a hoot!
But I agree about Theseus.
Carolegif, on second thoughts I'm with you. I had the Illiad stuffed down my throat (in Latin) many years ago. I still agonise over whether I think Achilles or Hector was the braver. At the moment I am favouring Hector. Nothing to do with that crap film "Troy" mind, the errors in that are beyond belief.
Might it not turn out that Jason is really Theseus? Lots of references to 'he must not know who he really is' ....
We really enjoyed it.... My 2 girls loved it and can't wait for next week. You can't take these things too seriously.... Just nice to have something whole family can watch together.
Now, the Mosaic household being what it is, I watched this on mute whilst holding serious conversations and showing DD how to manipulate her new facebook profile, so obviously I didn't catch any of the dialogue.
But - as I kept reminding those present - whoever had done it knew their archaeology as there was excellent and chronologically (mostly) correct use of artefacts, clothing and buildings, with a twist for entertainment and imagination.
I have similar mental episodes when watching Arnie in Conan the Barbarian. So very La Tene Iron Age!
I too only watched for ten minutes
The bbc should buy game of thrones.
Now that would knock yuk factor out of the ratings

This was complete drivel but why was it on so late ? Surely children's programs should be screened before their bedtime ?
