Alan Partridge in the car park

In 'I'm Alan Partridge' (not sure whether it was the second or third series), there's a scene where he's in a car park, I think, with his assistant Lynne.

He sees who he thinks is an old friend and shouts his name out over and over again, without getting a response.

We've been talking about it over lunch and no-one can remember the name.

What was it?
