Jubilee Tribute by Prince Charles

Anyone else watch this earlier on BBC1? What did you think? I enjoyed it immensely. I admit to being a monarchist, although never a great fan of Prince Charles. But his tribute was perfect I thought, and to some extent has altered my opinion of him. Some wonderful personal family film footage that obviously meant a lot to him....and I confess brought a tear to my eye....but then I am a big softie :)

Wonderful programme, brought tears to my eyes, but then I love our Queen anyway and wish her well for her Diamond Jubilee. Seeing Charles so emotional was an eye-opener.
I also agree with one of the posts on here, Anne is not ageing as well as her Mum !

There were some lovely film clips of the family in that programme. Quite enjoyable.
its only since the death of princess diana that they have become ''public friendly''...and that is now wearing thin with them...except when it suits them ie...weddings and landmark events...
Hi Dave :)

Don't forget the film they did way back in the 70's (I think). That was the first public friendly broadcast. I don't believe it ever was repeated. Showed them at Balmoral, picnics, BBQ's. Highland Games etc. as well as their official duties.
I enjoyed it very much but, who is the Queen the great grand mother of?
the children of princess anne's son, peter phillips.
nauseating tripe :(
I wonder does Charles ever get impatient with the long wait? Wouldn't a fixed term monarchy be an idea worth considering?

I really enjoyed the program. Caught it by chance and the intro made me think that it was going to be a 5-minute formal tribute. How wrong I was. After half-an-hour I was totally engrossed and enjoyed seeing so many film clips that I had never seen before. That program must have taken a huge number of man-hours to make and really deserves an award for "best royal nostalgia documentary".

Ps. Th following program with Griff Rhys Jones was awful.
