O'Shognessy?

Sounded like Ant & Dec were pronouncing o'Shaughnessy as OShognessy - is that the correct pronunciation?

Hmm, tbh.... I would have pronounced Shaughnessy as Sean-essy myself
It's the Geordie pronunciation.
O'shone-essy

I never knew that we are related, jno :-)
Obviously derives from Sean, the Irish/Gaelic equivalent of John.
They must have been told how to pronounce it.
Here he is saying his own name at the beginning of this video...(actually sounds like O'shocknessy to me tho')

It's O' Shocknessy according to my Irish friends.
According to Ant and Dac's Twitter they are pronouncing it the way he asked them to.
That's Dac pronounced DEC btw. ;)
