Scott & Bailey

has anyone watched this. Not your average police drama. I have come rather late to it, so hope it's repeated at some point.
The two leads are excellent, and storylines quite engrossing.

Question Author
if i stay awake i will be watching this evening.
I quite like this, think the last series was a bit better (when they were shaping the characters), but still enjoy it.
Question Author
what i like is there are no histrionics, or whizz bang cop shootouts. I read a while back that they have a police advisor involved in the show, and that they stick to a more believable way of behaving, in the interrogations and approach to cases.
Great series, great acting, great storylines. Pity the series ends next week!
I watched 2 episodes - If the leads were male it would be called misogonist or chauvinistic.

The female leads are angels and not one male character has a redeeming trait.

Its just man bashing and in these PC times not one man is allowed to speak out about it.
Question Author
nonsense, i don't see that at all.
Question Author
the two women are hardly angels, one certainly drinks too much, bordering on alcoholism, the other has problems with men certainly, largely through bad choices. But i would say this is one of the best things i have watched in ages, and the story lines like last nights are excellent.
I found last nights episode hard to watch. I'm afraid I walked out the room
after the first half hour. I know we have to be made aware that this sort of
abuse goes on, but I hate to have it on in my home in the guise of entertainment.
Question Author
cupid, i actually thought it was very well done. We know it goes on, and if we turn our heads away it will continue, abuse of this kind is prevalent among the gangs and the abuse, physical and sexual of young girls is well documented.
one of the best series for a long time. Hope they make another.
Question Author
so do i, would like to see the earlier programmes, as i said have come to this programme quite late.. I do think it's worth persevering.
I love it!
I do understand for the need to highlight the problem of abuse. It distresses
me that it goes on. I was just feeling a tad sensitive whilst it was on last night.
I wasn't ignoring the fact that it goes on in real life. I'm no ogre.
I cannot comment on the present series because I have not been watching it, but what I can't understand in the last series, one of the women was shot and was lying in a life and death situation in hospital, did she recover?

I understand what you mean, most TV dramas/soaps these days seem forever highlighting something or another, and are often followed by a contact phone number, if one finds themselves in a similar situation.

There is no need for it, they are entertainment programmes not documentaries.
Are you thinking of Janet Scott who was stabbed?
If so, then yes, she did recover!
I love Scott & Bailey, and neither of them could be classed as angels...........
It's briiliant and btw craft if you're interested there's a tie in book .Got it from the library today .Dead to Me by Cath Staincliffe .
Series one is already out DVD em .
I like this series too. Unfortunately I have missed some of the episodes so am hoping they will repeat, which of course they usually do ad infinitum. One series I am heartily sick of is New Tricks. Thank goodness they have at last started a new Series.
