I've just watched it too - classic. Mind you, I unfortunately caught the last bit of the programme that preceded it - Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em...... Ghastly. Even as a kid I thought it was dire.

It had good actors, who could do comedy as well as pathos, a recipe for a cracking show. We watched it first time around, and if only writers today could come close to it's winning formula.

I always laothed it. I am in utter agreement with Richard Briars about his character Tom, that he was a self-centered egotistical boorish man who abused the love of his wife to make them both miserable. I never saw what was so attractive about Felicity Kendal, and so i avoided watching it when ever possible, although my mum liked me to watch it with her, so I suffered for her sake.

I used to enjoy Just Good Friends, Randal and Hopkirk Deceased, and Victor Meldrew One Foot in the Grave. and My Family. I agree em, such a shame there aren't any more like that.

They were good in there days but still funny to watch now.

I wish they would bring back something similar to that TV programme with the teacher at night school trying to teach pupils English from around the world, cant remember the name but it was so funny.

Maybe not allowed on TV these days unfortunately!!!!
