Inspector Montalbano

The series ended last night, Mr Q and I really enjoyed it. We missed it when it was first broadcast on BBC 4 but luckily it has been repeated. I find it much better than the Swedish Wallander. It's not so gloomy or at times gruesome. Also it's set in sunny Sicily. I know the series was first broadcast it was 1999 (in Italy I presume) so I'm really hoping there's more to come.

It was shown in Italy, and I know about the romance ...
we like it too.
Best travelogue I've seen in many years, I now want to go to Sicily! I wonder if the roads are really so traffic free? Are there any more Wallenders coming up does anyone know?
I have watched a few of these. They are certainly different in style from most North European crime stuff.

Take a look at this. It will give you some ideas of where to go. As for the roads - we know what Italian drivers can be like.

This has been our very favourite programme for ages and we'll really miss it in Saturday nights. Like others, I hope we will get another series before too long. There's precious little else to watch....
