Many years ago there was a programme about a man under going the journey to become a woman
Is this the woman on channel 4's Four in a Bed

Yes, it is. He was called George and became Julia. I remember he had an obnoxious doctor, whose face never appeared on camera. There was a follow-up programme a few years later, when she was running a pub.

I watched 4 in a Bed and thought Julia looked a bit manly. I also watched both transgender programmes, but didn't realise it was the same person. The transgender programme really moved me, because he went through hell to become a woman and the follow-up programme was very sad as she seemed to have no real friends as neither sex would accept her and she came over as very lonely. I really hope she has found her niche in life and is now happy.

It was such aong time ago and I forgot about the doctor
Transsexuals were not as common then so it was quiet a groundbreaking programme
I seem to remember Julia had a Turkish boyfriend who was quite cruel to her too I think
