As folk applaud one must assume he is funny - I cannot understand 80% /90% of his dialogue - is it only me ?

As a Scot, I understand him. I think he is fab lol
lol....I can understand him.
Aw I love him! I'm Scottish though so I have no bother understanding him. He just did a program about people not understanding him. He ended up seeing a vocal coach and everything.... Very funny :-)

fair enough - as my roots are South West of England - tis my problem
No, it's a bit like our banknotes. Wotsvismateoicaunttakevis.
Those who know, know.
Your not on your own mojay,

I find the Scots accent very hard to understand. If they slowed down a wee bit I might catch on!

I unfortunately had to work with one in the Middle East and had to spend 2 weeks stuck on an island with him.

I just used to nod my head when he was talking, which was a lot so he thought I understood him, what a boring fart he was and as tight as a cockroaches Yabbie :-)
I have seen Keven Bridges on a number of programs and find him almost a totally unfunny man.

But then we all like different things, so one persons funny comedian is another persons unfunny comedian.
Yes.
No, I don't like him either. I'm from the south and its not because he's a scot, I just don't think he's funny. But I love Billy Connelly!
I think he's funny - but Scots accents vary hugely (as do English ones) and some are far more difficult to interpret, especially if they are using local terminology. It's only a matter of getting used to the accent.
He makes me laugh.
Right from the 1st time I saw him I have found him very funny. The trick is if his next show can maintain the momentum.
It's not his accent - when he was on Have I Got News For You he was unintelligible most of the time because he held his hands over his mouth.
I don't have any trouble understanding him, but I don't fnd him particularly funny either.
