is the core just a copy of armageddon, but they people have to go into the earth in the core and people go into space in armageddon?

The storyline(s)

the american government realises that the earth is in perilous danger, which would lead to mass extinction of the planet.

The find people who aren't astronoughts/ teranoughts but have the skills they need

Time is running out and the people ahve to learn to be astro/tera noughts

They come across a problem, the asteroid/ core is different to what they expect

Someone has to be sacrificed for the bomb to work

The rescue the earth with seconds to spare

They return as heroes.

The same story but with the earth's core and an asteroid, who agrees.
