How many of you enjoyed the film Hellboy II: The Golden Army? It was average for me.I give it 3 out of 5. Don't get me wrong though, the visuals were excellent. Del Toro, the director, did very well in that aspect. But the Golden Army weren't shown much at all. A bit in the beginning, and then just a small battle towards the end of the film. Luke Goss who played Prince Nuada was extremely fit to pull off all those acrobatic skills.Wow,although maybe some of his acrobatics had special effects thrown in to make them look better. Let's hope The Hobbit is a much better film.I have just recently read about this on the Empire website, which I have joined. The comedy bits were a little on the weak side, although the only bit that made me giggle was when Red was getting whacked by the locker doors. I thought the bit at the beginning with the young Hellboy was a bit poor too.It sounded as if he wasn't enjoying playing the role.I may be wrong though! Anyway, what are your comments and your rating out of 5.

I was really looking forward to this movie but was a little dissapointed. It all just seemed a bit rushed and I was waiting for a real big finale that never happened. The first film was good and had a better storyline.
The new character was really annoying - the gas robot thing, what the hell was that???
I did like the characters from the underworld though and that part of the story was quite interesting. The way Del Toro created some of the characters was really impressive - similar to the underworld charcter in Pans Labyrinth. He seems to have an excellent eye for detail and is creative in this way. Is he directing the Hobbit???
Overrall i found it a dissapointing super-heroe movie - visually it wasn't as jaw dropping as Spiderman, the one liners were nowhere near as good as the likes of Ironman, the storyline makes The Dark Knight look like an oscar winner and the characters - both old and new just fail to connect.
Would like Del Toro to direct a Medieval based myth or legend - maybe King Arthur tale or a dark Fairytale.

So,sorry for the late reply!
Many thanks for your comments jonesyonline and marwel.I have given you both three stars for your helpful response.
Hmmm, yes! That would be interesting if Del Toro directed a Fairy tale or a King Arthur type of film. It's his kind of category.
I have seen Batman The Dark Knight.I thought it was an outstanding film.Full credit to the late Heath Ledger who played the Joker. No wonder it was a box office success!!

thanks imhotep.
I enjoyed The Dark Knight too - maybe a little too long but the acting was superb. Spiderman 2 is the benchmark for superhero movies for me personally.
