animation about puppies from my childhood...?

Can anyone help with the name of this film I remember watching in the late eighties although could have been made earlier...it wasn't Disney. American style I think with some dogs or puppies who live outside in the yard of a house and they somehow get mixed up with some other puppies or dogs from the dog pound and they have adventures and some get lost and then I think at the end some new puppies get born and they all live happily ever after. There's this song in it sung in a Elvis style voice singing "let's go - to the pound ...etc". It's not All dogs go to Heaven, The Fox and The Hound, Lassie or Lady and the Tramp. My family can't help and think I'm making it up!

I would appreciate all suggestions even if you don't know the name of it yourself, thanks.

Yes! This is it! The Pound Puppies movie "Legend Of Big Paw" - contains the song "At The Pound" (based on "Let's Go To The Hop").

Oh my god I think this may be it!, the song is definately what I remember the most, I am off to order it from Amazon to watch it and find out, thank you feebal!
