cheesy film about scotland

Looking for name of a really cheesy film i remember from my childhood.
It''s from the 1950s i think and in the same vain as 'Geordie'.
I remember it being about a number of women and their husbands who are taken to the city (or mainland if they live on an island) and magically,or scientifically, made into boring beefcakes.
Also pretty sure that it's been parodied in family guy or simpsons or something but not sure.
Any help is much appreciated.
