.... just bought one of these and installed it on my tv. Everything is fine with the stick and what I can watch. The problem is when I go back to normal freeview tv ie BBC, ITV etc the screen pixelates horribly. If I pull the firestick out of the hdmi port the pixelating stops. Can anyone help me with this.

1. Use your TV remote to assign different HDMI inputs for your TV and stick. Try different inputes, don't necessarily go with the default.

2. Always turn off your stick after use by hold the Home button (little house symbol) for a few seconds, and then pressing Sleep.

3. You shouldn't really remove the stick to do a hard shutdown.

Top tip: You can install Kodi on your stick if you have a computer. This really extends the functionality of your stick.
It's a well-known problem. Some people find that plugging the Fire stick in via an HDMI extension lead (thus keeping the stick well away from the TV set) solves the problem for them but others don't. Given that such extension leads don't cost much, it might be worth a try though.

My Fire stick came with a small hdmi extension which I use, and I don't have the problem you refer to.
