george lucas has sold his franchise to disney for four billion dollars.
they are planning to do the third trilogy .. these will be sequels of course, continuing the story of luke,, leia etc.
episode 7 to be released in 2015, with the others every two or three years after..
hope i'm still around to see them.

I they were daft enough to do Star Wars - The Kids, they could actually use the original cast, just add the sprogs! I really hope they don't though.

Disney did ok with Pirates of the Carribbean so they may be ok.
Not excited by the news however as the last 3 films were awful.

9 films were originally planned so hopefully they will stick to the plot outlined way back on day 1.

When Star Wars is mentioned most people remember it with fondness but when you actually stop and think it got worse and worse!
First one aside, I'm not a fan of the overlong Yoda training sequence in Empire and don't get me started on the Ewoks in Jedi.
The only thing of any note in the final (or first?!) 3 was Darth Maul but then they killed him off.
