name a film

only have a rough idea of a film but would love to get it for my girlfriend,it is a true story about a child getting kidnapped and the frantic parents trying to trace him/her.
At the end when they find the child there is a long procession of police cars through the differing states to escort the child home.
could be an 80/90s film. thanxs

I know this film well and took ages to find a copy (only on VHS). It's called Without a Trace and the cop who found him and brought him back to NY with the police cars was played by Judd Hirsch and the mother was Kate Nelligan.
