We need to talk about Kevin

Has anyone seen this? I saw it recently and found it really disturbing. It haunted me for afew days afterwards. It's not everyone's type of film, it's not an easy film to watch in some parts.

It's also quite frustrating because you know Kevin does something big but since the film has flash backs we don't find out until towards the end.

However it's the relationship between mother and child, it's so disturbing and difficult to watch. There's this conflict between feeling sorry for her and wanting to say that you need help with parenting. The whole film is good, incredibly miserable most of the time and very thoughtful. Wondered if anyone had seen it and didn't like it?

I saw it and loved it - if thats the right thing to say about such a film
Great acting by all involved, well directed and well scripted
What more do you ask from a film
No, but I've read the book.
Go see the film too Ummmm - you won't be disappointed
Not seen it, read the book to 3 quarter way through and had to give up, literary diarrhoea, I'm in a minority with that opinion though, so the thought of watching the film gives me shivers.

This film and 'the skin I live in' with Antonio Banderas, both disturbing yet deep thought provoking films.

And what happened in the film has happened in reality but I wasn't too comfortable with the idea of putting Kevin's actions down to his childhood and in particular his relationship with his mother.

His explanation for his actions left me thinking. Why someone does a particular thing or commits an action with the delusion that they have a right to or they are making an ultimate point because they have this particular knowledge or understanding and only later when the act has worn off, when time continues to move forward, when we continue living that that person realises how futile it all was and how naive they have been?
Most people called Kevin, in my experience, are disturbed.

Lol Zac!

One could say 90%, if not more of the population are messed up in some way or other. Have a good weekend all. x
Good film, tough watch but worth it. I thought it was basically a copy of The Omen but without the religious aspects.
deliberately didn't watch or read about kevin!

plus, lovely bones (book) gave me nightmares!

I enjoyed this film, but knew what was coming cos I read the book first. I thought the acting was superb, especially Kevin. The Dad annoyed me the most because he would never admit there was a problem while it was screamingly obvious that there was. It is definitely the sort of film that gets you thinking.
