'The Actress'

On recommendation, I bought and watched this DVD yesterday.
For the life of me I can't understand why it amassed so many credits and awards.
To me, it was third rate and barely worth watching. What did I miss ?

its a classic, and i think it was in colour, plus an all star cast.

Fair comment, everyone. We seem to be at cross-purposes, somehow.
'The Actress' was bad enough: 'The Artist' was indeed terrible, a silent movie
with little point, though it did have a magical little dog which was the only
artist in the whole film.
