morning all Oliver reed film??

Trying to find a title of an old Oliver reed film for my mother she says it was in the 60s and in b/w have looked on IMDB but cant see what she is after. don't laugh the plot of the film is, that Oliver reed plays a drunk and has to look after a child she seems to think the title has something to do with stairs in it but i cant find anything. any ideas please?
