Question Author
Spock is really very attractive in this film - more human than the Leonard Nimoy's Spock. Great action movie.
Well I have to disagree - this was to me was a load of tripe!
I had to be talked into seeing the 2009 one but ended up really enjoying it and have watched it a few times since.
The baddie in the new one is Benedict Cumberbatch from Sherlock. There was a photo of him a few weeks back fighting Spock - I had to go for a lie down in a dark room after seeing it.

ooooh THAT one, thanks quizzy (and chuck, I wish my fingers would stay away from the 'i')
Yes, a good film. IMO as a 'prequel' so to speak it was well done. However that tv series Enterprise should never have seen the light of day, the one with Scott Bacula (sp)

"best Star Trek film ever"
Is that difficult?! Never been a fan myself.
Enterprise had the cheesiest 80's soft rock style theme music ever!
oooh Benedict playing a baddie !! That bodes well, or is the game afoot?
I've got bits tingling at the mere mention of his name.

Settle down Alba...we don't need a crisis on a Thursday afternoon flower ;-)
Good film not a huge Star Trek fan but this was good....more of a Star Wars man
With star trek the rules are simple even numbers are good odd numbers are tripe.
Having said that as a Trekkie I love all stat trek apart from Deep Sleep 9 that should never have seen the light of day and Enterprise was far superior!

<<< slinks away from keyboard, sorry Slappy xx
Now if we want to discuss Scifi, how about Babs 5 and Star Gate?
Deep Sleep was good occasionally.

benedict will be good as a baddie, if you know what I mean. The long leather coat he was in in these photos made me all of a flutter.
I didn't even mind Simon Pegg in the first one and I've got a phobia of him.
aahh, see Slappy :-) Us ladies know a good 'un when we see 'em
Yin, I understand perfectly. The raised eyebrow, the almost smile and the gleam in the eye. (Lawdy, I'm off again)

Spock is played by Zachary Quinto who was the baddie in the US Series Heroes. I enjoyed both the Star Trek Film & The Heroes Series.
W Ron.

Calm down girls....any chance we can sneak Lara Pulver in there in the nuddy again....;0)
I'll look out for the second one the cast of the first made it interesting, was never a fan of Shatner. Never watched DS9 or babylon 5 but I have heard that the porno versions are very interesting
Stop it, alba- it's too exciting. My husband will be home soon and I don't want him wondering why I'm all flushed.
Sorry, quizzywig, for letting my hormones hijack your thread.
Ron, I thought he was an excellent choice as Spock. In fact I think all the cast were well chosen as being recognisable as the original character while bringing their own slant and a freshness to it.
yes ok "I have heard that the porno versions are very interesting " we'll believe ya. :0 x
Sorry quizzy, for the digression.
There is a marked shortage of decent Sci-fi on TV. (No longer have cable or Sat)

Yep honest Alba....guy in here is almost addicted to the stuff, he's very sad!!
