what is the name of this film

Hi
Some years ago I was watching a film....the plot was based on the IRA and the troubles in Ireland.
A guy is involved with terrorist activities


The guy was responsible for the death of 3 police officers..he later becomes romantically involved with one of the dead police officers widow.
she is totally unaware of what he has done.

I'm not sure if Jenny Agutter stared in this film.
Can anyone help me with the name of this film?

It sounds like 'Cal', though it was Helen Mirren, not Jenny Agutter.
