Sorry to be so vague, but when my Mum died , my Dad had died 30 years previuos, and their house wasnt on the land registry, because there was no will I sorted out all the probabt matters, and if I remember rightly I went on the website of the land registry and printed off all the forms that were needed, I had to pay to register, the forms were about daunting but I did it.

A legal advisor can do these for you if that's easier.
The Land Registry are very good with their advice though and can direct you to the right forms which you can download from their site. They also do a load of very good practice guides. http://www.landreg.gov.uk/ You can find the address of the relevant registry on there as there are ones all over the country although there are some quirks where different Land Registries deal. You can search by area in the customer services bit in the forms and publications section. |
