Health Insurance For Dog

Hi Folks,
Can anyone recommend a pet insurance company who will insure my dog for illness or accident.

I have looked at some quotes and I am a bit confused. Some seem to be accident only, but I want to cover everything, ie illness, accident or loss. He is a young dog (less than a year old) and lives in Northern Ireland.

I used Tesco for many years but have recently swapped as I got a fantastic offer from more than through Top cash back that was excellent value for money.
Has the dog already got health issues as you may struggle, but use a price comparison site for help.

I would heartily recommend Petplan but not sure if they operate in NI

The top Which? providers for pet insurance are NFU Mutual, LV, Petplan and John Lewis Insurance......
BUT you have to have home insurance with NFU to take out their pet policy.
The worst are M&S, Direct Line, E&L and Argos.

Thanks, everyone, he has no health issues at all, is a normal well adjusted pup and hopefully will not need a vet for a long time, except for vaccs and teeth check.
I've had a look at Petplan, and think i am going to go for their life cover.

My Direct Line insurance for one, eleven year old dog has just gone up to £118.00 per month! Don't consider them.

I took out a Tesco policy for the two moggies when I got them. My boy cat is asthmatic and they have covered that over the last 8 years or so.

But the renewal quote for this year was £600 a year (for both cats) which is far too much. I cancelled it and will just have to see what happens.
