This was the other day, in my town Newmarket.

The owner of the dog, instead of thanking the public for phoning for help, and the police for rescuing it, said his dog had Alzheimer, and thats why he couldn't walk, when the cop got him out of the car :-( What an idiot!!!!

Story & video below.

In the past people may not have been fully aware of this serious risk to a dog's (or child's) life but these days everyone knows and there is no excuse for leaving a dog in a car at any point during the summer.

If she's a fragile dog all the more reason to leave her at home in a cool room.
Thankfully the dog was okay - I just hope he gets a nice big fine, so maybe ..... just maybe ..... he won't do it again :)
For cases like this a ban on keeping animals ever again is more appropriate.

what a plonker! wrap him up in a fur coat and lock him in a jam jar on a hot day, see how he fares, eejit!
This poor little dog should be taken from this moron immediately !! Sick to death of people doing this every damn summer .....

Not such an Idiot it would appear,

petsci.co.uk/health-care/is-your-dog-suffering-from-canine-cognitive-dysfunction/

But the Dog should not have left in the car like that.
Baldric I think that is all the more reason why the idiot shouldn't have left the poor creature in the car.
I presumed the 'idiot' referred to his actions not the dog's condition.

I may have read it differently.

LB as I said at 15:11

But the Dog should not have left in the car like that.

Where does anyone say 'idiot' referred to the Dogs condition?
Yep we are agreed on that B.
Beg pardon.

//Not such an idiot.

Link to CCD.//

Just the way it reads - hope the wee dog is ok.
