Question on a Mobile Phone Contract?

Situation - one Sony mobile phone that is a piece of crap as it loves to randomly call people on my list, esp. my youngest sister, annoying for her and annoying for me too. My bro-in-law gets the same thing happening with his. My phone is a lot worse since I had the last one replaced, having mistakenly left it on the roof of my car in a rush to get back to relieve the carer as to mater duties - plonker that I was.

My contract finishes end of July.

Memory recalls that I can ask for a new phone and contract within 3 months of the end of the existing one, no penalties charged (things like scrapping charges on the one that I have). Am I right on this?

Thanks in advance.

I'd not know and suspect it depends on your personal contract (or what you can convince your supplier to offer). Or you could just go out and buy your own unlocked handset to use.
