Even if you have the money - what would be the lowest you would take out on a credit card - ie £400, £1,000 - I have never had one.

I do have a credit card, but wouldn't take cash out on it unless I was starving in an another country and didn't have any other option.
Not had one for years, but when I used to the lowest I took out during a month was £0.
Old geezer gets best answer
Do you mean the credit card limit? Or withdrawing cash?
The lowest credit card limit I have is £1,000, I do not know if there are lower.
It really does not matter how much you spend on a card if you keep track of the amount and of course fully pay at the end of each month thereby not paying interest. Use it as a convenient way not to carry larger sums of cash.
If you've never had a credit card jennyjoan I wonder if you fully understand what they are. They are NOT normally used for drawing out cash and spending it, as that is an expensive way of borrowing money. The main use is, for convenience, for buying goods instead of using cash. At the end of the month you get a bill from the credit card company and, if you pay it in full, it doesn't cost you anything. You can choose to pay only part of the debt but then you are charged interest at quite a high rate, although nowhere near that of the pay-day loans. For the convenience of not having to carry cash and only having one bill to pay we use ours for almost everything we buy but NEVER leave any of the balance outstanding or, as Cloverjo says, NEVER take out cash unless absolutely desperate (it's never happened yet).
Errr - I fail to understand how anyone lives without a credit card that they pay off in full at the end of every month!
was there a fee for that old geezer?
Using a credit card also gives you protection against not receiving goods and services , ( over a set limit ) should a company for example , goes bust
I use a credit card a lot, but pay it all off monthly so I don't pay interest. I would never dream of withdrawing cash on it.
I don't have a credit card.
My credit card company , recently invited me to raise the credit limit from 6k+ to 8k+
I haven't had one for almost twenty years, the only thing I do miss is the added protection when making expensive purchases.
I can go one better LOL. I use my credit card for everything I can and pay off in full every month and they pay me for doing so. I get cash back every month based on how much I spend.

When I have taken out credit cards I have never asked for a limit. They set it. And then if they see you need it they offer to raiser it.
Credit cards can be useful as it gives added protection if problems with a purchase. They are also essential at places like unmanned garages where they only have card sales. (unless you have a debit card). Like some others have said if you pay off each month it is good because you dont have any interest. I have never taken out cash and never would. It incurs a fee.
It is very difficult to understand if when you refer to 'take out' do you mean withdrawing cash (as said shockingly bad idea) or your credit limit?
I've just recalled that you have a tendency to lose bank cards do you really want to add to that risk???
