After the meeting today, the school belive the teacher did every thing correct, he has said he did not bend the knee, but asked pupil to put it straight, he asked pupil what the level of pain was on scale of 1_10, he excepts he did not compare both knees, the school also excepts that a wheel chair should have been used and walking proberly did cause more damage, thy say the pupil refused a wheel chair, but re now going to review this and if a staff member thinks a wheel chair is needed they will over ride the pupils descion on not using one,, they are willing to speak to the consultant and take any advice given for her care, they did not comment on level of damage done, they have offered a tutor to help her to prepare for her exams and pay for this, they also have a meeting later in the week with board of governors and this will be a priority on there agenda

I think the mother is happy that the school are going to help with the tutor which is a must for her forth coming exams, she is not going to make any descion until she gets the full report in writing, but as others wanted a update I have posted this x
Then he DID NOT do everything right !
The correct procedure is to immobilize the knee before even attempting to move the patient. That is from my son, an ex army medic and a lead firstaider for a site with 850 workers!
^^ That includes making sure the patient does not try to move the knee themselves. he should have reassured the patient while calling a first aider, paramedic or ambulance who had the equipment to 'stabilize or immobilize' the injury .
Were there any witnesses who can say if the head of PE was telling the truth about moving the knee? If he is lying to get out of trouble it makes the case far worse !

I agree with you Eddie even if the girl said no to a wheel chair he should have considered she could have been in shock and not allowed her to walk, and called for a more qualified person to o help and I doubt they had a suitable one anyway the fact that they are going to review there treatment of injured pupils makes me wonder a lot was discussed so its a case of waiting to read there report they also said they were going to call for ambulance just as the mother arrived but the the messages left via voice mail did nothing to confirm this
^^ Yes I sense a teacher who knows he is deep in the 'dodo' and frantically trying to save his ar*s.
I do not think the truth will come out of this until a lawyer gets involved!
