/// In his column, Mr Johnson cited work By Professor Ad Vingerhoets of Tilburg University suggesting that women cry more than men. "[It] is a fact that – on the whole – men and women express emotion differently ... it should not be an offence to say that," Mr Johnson wrote. ///

/// Such views could land Mr Johnson in hot water, according to a Labour MP. Chi Onwurah, the member for Newcastle Central, reckons that because Mayor Boris is an employer, he could be breaking sex discrimination laws if he is treating male and female employees differently. ///

/// If Boris is treating women differently from men by not giving them honest feedback on their performance because they might burst into tears, he is certainly failing in his duty of care and could be in breach of the sex discrimination act. ///

Labour MP. Chi Onwurah

she should keep her fat mouth shut and mind her own business...who is she anyway ?...
It's all rather ridiculous. He should have had to resign in the first place.
Might have known she would have been no oil painting, they never are. Oops I'm in bother now!

Good to see the customary highly intelligent levels of debate being maintained here on Answerbank.
If he is breaking the law then it is a law that probably needs looking at in the House. These isms. One should only be guilty of wrongdoing if one is treating someone unfairly. Not if they are merely being treated differently. I suspect it must be difficult to legislate for fairness, so much easier to pass a blanket ban or whatever and insist one has to stick to the letter. I'll read the article later if I find time.

Said the woman selected to stand from an all-woman shortlist. ;)

Another storm in a teacup. Was Sir Tim merely voicing opinion ? If so, the fact that he resigned is up to him.

That's rich coming from one who regularly sits on his perch criticising others, rather than helping to add a more highly intelligent level of debate here on AnswerBank.
" levels of debate"

I dont come on here to waste my time debating...

It's not a debating site.

You either tow the lefty liberal right-on line or get called names or banned.
