anything dep on original crime!

good luck with the book!
Another good place to get this kind of info is on the NaNoWriMo website. You will need to say which country and what crime but there are loads of folk on there also writing books.
maximum is life imprisonment, I think
It also depends on one's station in life. One can expect a just sentence if a member of Joe Public is to be tried. However if a prominent figure is tried, a much lesser sentence is passed. As with most arms of the law.
• Are you writing a book? What is it about?
• Are you really a pervert?

@ Wolf

- No I'm not writing a book. I assumed that Cath's comment was a humourus dig at a misspelt word etc; just haven't spotted it yet.

-yes, according to my missus.

- yes I will reply to your Email when I get around to reading it. I haven't been on the puta much at home and when I am I am usually busy keeping the Caribbean free of the Dutch and Pirates.

Sadly, I must agree with Flump's answer to my question.
So - you know a perverter? Stick it in the email. Has Foxy Loxy returned?
oops my apologies!

we have seen many 'authors' asking really vague legal questions of late!

@Cath
No worries. At least you only called me an author. My own sister accused me of being a pervert!!!
hiya i heard on the news today thgat the max setence is life but in practice people generally get 1-2 years
I am not aware of a non-custodial sentence ever being handed down for this offence, though I stand to be corrected.
Mike.
I agree with you that it is very rare to receive a non-custodial sentence for perverting the course of justice; I understand David Jones and Ian Anderson, after pleading guilty to the offence, have recently been sentenced to community punishment.
Andrew & Flump.
Remember Jonathan Aitkin, custodial sentence for perverting the course of justice .
Remember Jeffrey Archer, custodial sentence for perjury.
