Right of privacy

My neighbour on one side and neighbour but one on the other side of my back garden talk to each other across my garden shouting to make themselves heard. I object to them doing this, is there any solution in law to stop this happening?

put up 8ft high fences or put music on in your back garden to such a level that they cant shout over it.

Other than that i cant see what you can do

I think neighbours can compain about the height of fences anyway. I know my woman, who likes privacy, had to reduce one of hers because a neighbour complained.

Eddie - can you not now get away with 2m high i.e. 6' 6" to allow for gravel board.

how long do they talk for? i dont think you can do much. do they sort of hang over the fence leaning into your garden, or just talk loudly?

i think all you can do is make your fence higher or put a bush along it so they cant lean on it...

it would irritate me but only if they did it while i was sitting in my garden or it was 3am

Open your door into the garden and stand there from time to time with a cup of coffeee if it is a fine day --- that way you won't miss anything.

Yes 2m is the maximum for putting up a fence and nothing the neighbours can object to.
