criminal record for shoplifting?

Will i get criminal record when cought shoplifting $7 grocery by undercover security who took the id info, not called police and said i will receive fine from the store in mail. this happened in bc, canada. called it shoplifting but i had item in stroller and distracted by baby forgot about this one at cashier. walked out with it. thanks for the advice

one thinkk only ther POLICE , can "issue" , a criminal record , ........ even in Canada , in England , this is c alled a ! civil recovery scheme .... basicaly , they stores , consider , making a clAIM , THRU , THE county court - OR SETTLE OUT OF COURT , IF YOU AGREE , TO PAY THEM COMPENSATION , AS WELL , AS REIMBURSING THER AMOUNT THAT YOU STOLE , IF THE ITEMS WERE NOT RECOVERED , WHICH IN THIS CASE THEY WERNT ..
