Yes. The age of consent in England is 16.

But I doubt if he will. He would probably just get a caution.

I think he should be in prison, what does a 20 yr old want with a kid? only 1 thing darling its called 'sex'!!

Do you really want a pervert bringing up your baby????????
That's a bit harsh - she's not a kid, she is less than 1 year below the legal (totally man made) age of consent. Had she been 14 or him been a lot older, then fair do's, have a go, but we are talking about what is quite a normal age gap with couples.

Go with Randyraven on this - technically, yes, he committed a crime but the bigger crime is that he couldn;t put on a johnnie if you ask me. Given the amount of unwanted pregnancies and morning after pills dished out to under 16's these days, this is not isolated, and if it DOES go that far, priority concern will be you and the baby,

He will be subjected to the Sex offender's register if found guilty for around seven years or more. And given the circumstances, he'd probably recieve a suspended sentence, then again the judge can hand down a sentence of anything up to 10 years.
There is a limited statutory defence:

A man is not guilty of an offence under this section because he has unlawful sexual intercourse with a girl under the age of sixteen, if he is under the age of twenty-four and has not previously been charged with a like offence, and he believes her to be of the age of sixteen or over and has reasonable cause for the belief.
stop scaring the poor girl (although i may suggest a condom could be a good idea next time)

He can go to prison certainly but the chances are NO. The law is very reluctant to get involved in relationships where, even where peopel are underage, they are of a reasonable age (such as 15 and 20). Police and the courts are unlikely to care!
hope he has a job in which case , he keeps you & child.
& not me.
Spanish teenagers put this country to shame, i am embarassed when young Spanish ask me about what they have read , what happens in is country.

I have never in 23yrs ever seen a Spanish teenager Drunk
Streeboi, your joking right?

Home Officer papers 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and more than likely 2009 along with the Law Commission and CPS have all targeted sexual offences.

Hence the reform in 2003, hence the added statues.

They will try to get as many convictions as possible to make the figures look better. The law is the law - mitigating factors MAY keep him from Prision but he will be on the Sex offenders register if found guilty!
