If you have savings and investments across different banks and building societies, you might like to use this checker to make sure they are not in fact all in the same group. And that if you have a total of more than £75,000 and anything should happen to that group, its protected.

The amount is reduced from £85k to £75k in the new year and we have just entered a transition period where people can move their money around if they need to avoid the risk.
