As jno and albaqwerty say you may not have to consider divorce if you are the second wife, but you obtained a mortgage in which you are both jointly and severally liable for the payments (the full amount not 50%).
If you know bigamy has taken place, which comes under s57 of the offences against the person act 1861, go to the police with what proof you have. You may find the mortgage provider may not release the other party as at the moment they have two people whom they can pursue if payments are not made and may not want this reduced. If you can show you have paid the mortgage on your own for some time this may help with convincing the mortgage provider of your ability to pay, they may however require agreement from the other party, talk to them.
