I have heard tell that the United States of America is short of HGV drivers, rather like the United Kingdom. I have also heard that it is possible to do trade plate driving in the U.S. or any other country for that matter. This, to those who do not know, means that the driver in question collects a new or used vehicle from a depot, and then takes it to another depot. I have already done this in this country, but it was with cars and not lorries. I would like to know how do I find work with a company doing this, and would it help that I have a PCV licence as well as HGV Class 2. I would also consider doing this sort of work in this country, or in Europe.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Have you thought about maybe concentrating on one career path...instead of anything that takes your fancy?
You find a company in the US that does that type of work and persuade them to offer you a job AND sponsor you for a visa. Somehow I think the latter, which involves hefty fees, would put them off.

You would certainly need to get an appropriate US licence as well before you could actually do any work

I'd forget it as far as the US is concerned.
