Uni / signing on

My friends daughter is home from uni at the moment and is looking for a job but has got nothing as yet and says she will sign on whilst looking for work. I said she wouldn't be able to as she gets student finance. Am I correct or can she sign on?

The answer is almost always no but it depends on her circumstances- eg is she a single mum with rent to pay?

Its worth inquiring at your local job centre in any case, maybe she could get some benefit depending on the amount of her student finances ?
