Hey, I did. I'm no longer teaching English though. Which country do you plan to do your TEFL intensive course in?

Hey!! I left teaching to follow something more centred on my uni degree. But I have to say that whilst I was teaching I enjoyed it.

What is the name of the co. offering the intensive course?

Hi there.

Dmu do a TEFL course which has been recognised as the best in the country. It is considered a "diploma" now as opposed to a certificate - this means it is "equal" to a masters.

If you want to do it properly you could do it there?

josh111, i am doing the tefl course in a place called ttmadrid in estrecho madrid. after lots of research, it seems they are all much of a muchness. to say so and so is the best is to me slightly sad. cuz all i want is the training, also i met someone who had completed the ttmadrid course and seemed quite pleased

Take a look at this site before you commit yourself.

I took a standard 60 hour tefl before going traveling, and to be honest, it was a waste of money. I've a lot of friends who teach English as a foreign language. Some did it for the odd job while traveling, others do it professionally and long-term.

If you want to do this professionally, and plan to have some options about where you teach and what level, you'll need to take a CELTA course (possibly then followed up with a DELTA). These are internationally regarded as the best qualification. The downside is that they're substantially more expensive than a bog-standard tefl, but they're a much longer and more comprehensive course, and are widely regarded as a 'proper' teaching qualification.

Hope that helps.

thANX AVA 77. I CANT get out of my chosen tefl course now, ive paid a big deposit. plus most courses have 2b booked well in advance. my course is in august, and as i live in madrid, its the best time to do it, because theres usualy no work that month.
in can always think about about a celta next year
