Web design placement job

Hi I am looking for a 12 month web design placement job in london/M25 area as I live in south-west Essex. I have written to lots of companies and found a few websites but I can't seem to find any companies looking for a student like me for a year can anyone help?

phone around places?
If you are a student can't your college or uni help find somewhere to do a placement.
I know my college did when we had work placements.

my uni up in staffordshire so they only get companies up near the uni, which is not very good for me when I want to live at home in essex for the year.

Sorry i live in scotland so can't really help you i emailed quite alot of companies when job hunting and several got back to me i looked in creative design websites and books what about computer arts magazines etc ???

Hi. I suspect you may have to put yourself out a little more if you want a job. Web designers as a career seems to be more available than work. I know several, who work on a contractul or self employed basis.

Yes I've been sending out lots of letters and emails but not getting many replies and if I have all been no. I was thinking of changing my cv abit by taking out my a level results as I got a B in ICT but E's in Physics and Maths which are really hard A levels I can tell you but I wanted to try them. So by not including the grades do you think this will put me in a better position?

have you got an example of something you created to show prospective employers. Why not creat a small web site on YOU and submit that. You goto keep hammering on that door. Good luck

The trouble is though that the flash file "gobble theory" that is under your developments isn't actually yours is it?

It's original home is http://www.levitated.net/daily/levGobbleTheory .html

After spotting that, I wonder how much else of "your" website was actually created by you?

good spotting yeh that was little experiement adjusting an exsisting flash file. Rest of my site is all me though. So tut tut lol
