Learn German in college or in Germany..??!!

I can't decide whether it would be best for me to continue studying German at college, even though I hate it, or just go to the country and learn it there, even though I would have to travel there alone. Any suggestions??

going to germany will certainly be the quickest way of learning the lingo.
if you have the oppertunity to go and can get yourself settled, go for it!
you say you would have to travel alone, if that makes you nervous , then you maybe should just stay at the college and learn.

to add to radiogaga's comments though, if you intend working while there, you may find it hard to be employed as you must have a basic knowledge of the language to work there (I have a friend in Munich).

why not go for a holiday there first with friends/family - that way you can get a feel for whether you would be comfortable living there and also working out where in Germany you would live...it's much bigger than UK!
