I want to go on a course or courses to try to improve my chances of surviving a terrorist attack, an aircraft crash, a hijacking, an avalanche, an earthquake, a tsunami or any other possible catastrophes. Or are there any books or websites which could help ?. Any ideas ?

I doubt it - unless you want tips like don't go out of the house.- but even then there's probably more risk involved in that as so many serious accidents happen in the home

Probably. You could do a web search. Check the book stores. But recalling any tips in the extremely unlikely event you get into such a situation, seems unlikely. Perceived risk can tend to be greater than real risk after a reported incident. But if just curious, good luck with the search.
Google "surviving apocalypse "...that will give you some ideas.
There are groups in the U.S. who are very much into this sort of thing.
Could you persuade Bear Grylls to become a permanent companion...he knows everything (or, at least, thinks he does).
I was trying to remember what the (loony) Americans are called...survivalists
